Jose Felix LaRocque, 23, of Garden City, KS passed away on July 2, 2021 in Garden City from injuries sustained while working.
Felix was born in Guatemala on November 9, 1997. He and his sister Maria were cared for by their older brother Antonio, until they were placed in an orphanage in Guatemala City. David and Krista adopted the three children in August 2000, bringing them home to North Carolina. Felix graduated from homeschool in May 2016, and joined the rest of the family in moving to Kansas later that year. Felix married Yesenia Ochoa on July 20 2019.
Felix has always been an active, energetic young man, and enjoyed working with his hands outdoors with oil service companies and other excavation work. He enjoyed hiking, family time, eating out, and celebrating with friends and family. He cared deeply for other people, and dealt with tremendous burdens on behalf of others.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna LaRocque.
Visitation will be held at Price & Sons in Garden City on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 11am - 8 pm. Family will be available between 5pm and 7pm beginning with a pastoral prayer. Father Jacob Schneider will be leading a prayer service at 3pm.
Funeral service will be held at Praise Fellowship Church in Ransom, KS on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10am, with interment directly following at Bazine Cemetery. Everyone is invited to a luncheon afterward at Golden Years in Bazine.
Felix had hopes of a bright future, looking forward to a happy life with the people he loved. He had been planning to get more technical training to improve his welding skills. With this in mind, the family asks that donations be made to the Western Kansas Community Foundation to provide support to other young people who wish to further their training in the Western Kansas area in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N.
