Johnny Joe Leal, age 49, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born on February 12, 1971, in Karnes City, Texas, the son of Frank M. & Maria Martinez Leal. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1995 moving from Karnes City, Texas, he worked for B&H Paving in Scott City, Kansas.
Johnny was a real man with a heart of gold. He loved his Texano music, spending time with family and friends, and loved to make people laugh and smile. Johnny was very passionate and spending time with his grandchildren and was very close to his little sister Maria who he looked up to and was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his longtime companion - Laurie Hill of Scott City, Kansas, Five Children - Patricia Barbosa of Scott City, Kansas, Chaunna Hill of Orville, California, David Ruiz of Chico, California, Angel Derstine of Scott City, Kansas, Nathaniel Derstine of Scott City, Kansas, Three Grandchildren - Mya Barbosa of Scott City, Kansas, Alex Barbosa of Scott City, Kansas, Jordan Barbosa of Scott City, Kansas, Four Brothers - Frank M. & Eva Leal of Karnes City, Texas, Billy M. Leal of Karnes City, Texas, Tony M. Leal of Karnes City, Texas, Jimmy Leal of San Angelo, Texas, Three Sisters - Olga & Raul Rojas of San Angelo, Texas, Aurora & Rene Reyna of Scott City, Kansas, Maria Leal & Joe Zapata of Scott City, Kansas, and Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Pastor Kyle Evans presiding.
Burial will be in the Karnes County Cemetery in Karnes City, Texas.
Memorials In Lieu Of Flowers may be written to the Johnny Leal Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.
