John A. Luebbers

John A. “Hans” Luebbers, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Hospice of Reno County in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He was born on September 10, 1936 in Marienthal, Kansas, the son of August Casper & Beata Magdeline Kreutzer Luebbers.  A longtime resident of Scott & Wichita Counties, he moved to Hutchinson, Kansas in 2007, he was a retired Grain Elevator Manager.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas, American Legion of Hutchinson, Kansas and was a US Marine from 1957 until 1963.

On March 6, 1965 he married Veda O. “Toni” Armantrout in Raton, New Mexico.  She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Veda O. "Toni" Luebbers of Hutchinson, Kansas, One Daughter - Kelly French of Hutchinson, Kansas, One Step Grandson - Kyle French of Leoti, Kansas, One Step Granddaughter - Tara French of Wichita, Kansas, Four Brothers - August “Gus” Luebbers, Jr. of Marienthal, Kansas, James “Pete” Luebbers of Marienthal, Kansas, Don Luebbers of De Ritter, LA, Jerry Luebbers of Rainier, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Brother - Omar and Three Sisters - Edith, Lenor and Donna.

Vigil Services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, KS.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas with Fr. Ben Martin presiding.

Memorials may be made to Hans Luebbers Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
