JOHN WAS BORN MARCH 7, 1930 AT RUSSELL SPRINGS, KANSAS, THE SON OF LOUIE & JULIA RUBOTTOM BLAU. HE WAS A FARM LABORER AND A LIFETIME WESTERN KANSAS RESIDENT. HE WAS A U.S. ARMY VETERAN SERVING IN OKINAWA.
JOHN WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS.
ON DECEMBER 29, 1952 HE MARRIED JOYCE ALLEN BENNETT AT RATON NEW MEXICO. SHE DIED MARCH 26, 1998 AT LEOTI, KANSAS.
JOHN'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- FOUR SONS GARY BLAU- SALINA, KANSAS RON BLAU- HAYS, KANSAS STAN- BLAU LEOTI, KANSAS GEORGE BLAU- MANHATTAN, KANSAS TWO DAUGHTERS- SANDY EMME- MANHATTAN, KANSAS CHRISTINE BLAU- " TWO BROTHERS- CHARLES BLAU- MARIENTHAL, KANSAS FRITZ BLAU- MULLENVILLE, KANSAS NINE GRANDCHILDREN, TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN
HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS ANF TWO BROTHERS, HALE BLAU AND MARTIN BLAU.
MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER7, 2006 AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND DICK ODUM OFFICIATING.
THERE WILL BE NO CALLING TIMES.
