Joe H. Bever, age 82, formerly of Scott City and Garden City, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at his home in Green Valley, Arizona. He was born on March 10, 1925 in Centerville, Iowa the son of F.M. "Jack" and Mildred Hellyer Bever. The family later moved to Crook, Colorado. After his high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany. His lifelong career was in Agricultural Business in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.
He was a member of Anthem Masonic Lodge, the Scott County Shrine Club and a former member of the First Baptist Church all of Scott City, Kansas.
In 1956 he married Crystal J. Marley. He later married Georgie Hemel in 1974.
Survivors Include: Wife, Georgie of the Home; One Daughter, Vicki Trillo of Laveen, Arizona; Two Sons, Jack Bever of Ness City, Kansas and James Bever of Hutchinson, Kansas; Two Step-Daughters, Janetha Abeyta of Loveland, Colorado and Marilyn Luebbers of Leoti, Kansas; One Step-Son, Virgil Hemel of Colby, Kansas; A Nephew, Bob Smith of Livermore, California; Sixteen Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister â JoAnne Smith and a Granddaughter â Stephanie Leatherman.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services in Green Valley, Arizona and Scott City, Kansas will be held at a later date.
There will be no calling times.
The family requests memorials be given to the Green Valley Parkinson's Support Group, P.O. Box 714, Green Valley, Arizona.
