Jennie Leona Woelk, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas. Jennie was born September 8, 1922 in Geneseo, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Monroe & Carrie Leona (Smith) Cronkite. A resident of Greeley County since 1952 moving from Sheridan Lake, Colorado, she was a farm wife, homemaker, a former employee of the United States Department of Agriculture and of Greeley County Hospital. Jennie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church Choir, Busy Bee EHU, A former Boy Scout Den Mother, Rebekah’s and The Red Hat Society. On October 2, 1940 she married Lewis Woelk in Ulysses, Kansas. Lewis passed away on November 17, 2000 in Tribune, Kansas. Jennie’s surviving family includes- One son- Ron & Patricia Woelk- Leawood, Kansas Daughter-In- Law – Shari Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Four grandchildren- Cody Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Cori Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Josh & Casey Woelk- St. Paul, Minnesota Hanni Woelk- Kansas City, Missouri Four Great Grandchildren- Morgan Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Karlyn Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Lane Woelk- St. Paul, Minnesota Hugo Woelk- St. Paul, Minnesota Her husband, two brother and two sisters, an infant daughter, Connie Woelk and a son David E. Woelk precede her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am (MST) Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas with Shannon Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at priceandsons.com
