Janice M. Brown, age 70, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on August 2, 1943 in Colby, Kansas, the daughter of Honorable Alexander and Ruth Marie Kessler Fromme. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1971 moving from Platte City, Missouri, she was an Executive Director of Girl Scouts, Tumbleweed Council of Garden City, Kansas.
She was member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, Alpha Z Delta Sorority of KSU, PEO, Women's Chamber, Lifetime member of Girl Scouts, Salmagundi, American Legion Auxiliary member, Weight Watchers, and a member of Searchers Sunday School Class.
On June 23, 1965 she married E. Edward Brown in Hoxie, Kansas. He survives.
Other Survivors Include his One Daughter - Stephanie & Barth Nicholson of Olathe, Kansas, One Son - Scott & Valerie Brown of Wichita, Kansas, Two Sisters - Mary Lou Anderson of Lansing, Kansas, Debra Basom of Topeka, Kansas, Three Brothers - Honorable David Fromme of Springfield, Missouri, Honorable Phil Fromme of Burlington, Kansas, Robert Fromme of Floresville, Texas, One Grandson - Grant Nicholson of Olathe, Kansas and One Granddaughter - Chelsea Nicholson of Olathe, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor David Bell presiding.
There will be no calling times.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Hoxie Cemetery in Hoxie, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
