James V. Long, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Jim was born July 4, 1924 at Burns, Kansas, the son of Lewis & Mary Scrivner Long. A resident of Leoti, Kansas since 1947 moving from Burns, Kansas, he was a truck driver and brick mason. Jim earned the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving his country as a gunner in the 8th Army Air Force during World War Two.
On September 16, 1950, Jim married Gloria Sader at Leoti, Kansas.

His parents, 2 brothers, Eldon Long and Dale Long, and a Daughter-in-Law, Sandra Long preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, June 4, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating.
Inurnment will be in Leoti Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Funeral Honor Guard based at Fort Riley, Kansas.
There will be no calling times.
Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Amusement Association or the United Methodist Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
