James Layfayette Duncan, age 79, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Alterra Sterling House in Dodge City, Kansas. He was born June 8, 1927 at Ingalls, Kansas, the son of Hoyt Abner & Laura Wilkison Duncan. A resident of Garden City, recently moving to the Alterra Sterling House in Dodge City, he was a farmer.
He was a member of the Community Congregational Church of Garden City.
On October 5, 1947 he married Shirley Eyman in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Scott Duncan of Reed Springs, Missouri, One Daughter, Debbi Wehkamp of Garden City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Duncan, an infant daughter, one brother, Hoyt "Bud" Duncan, and three sisters, Irene Betts, Myrtle Jaye & Alice Powell.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas
Friends may call from 10am-8pm Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests that memorials be given to the St. Catherine Hospice of Dodge City or to the Emmaus House, both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
