Jacquita Charles

Jackie Charles (Jacquita Patsy Wilcher Chaffin Charles), age 86, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023 At Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. Jackie was born in Depew, Oklahoma on July 27th, 1937 to Dutch (Clarence Eugene) and Eva Marie Hodge Wilcher. She had one brother, Trent Eugene Wilcher, who is now deceased, and one sister, Treva Joyce Elliott of New Bern, N.C.

Her family moved to California when she was very young and she grew up and attended school in Coalinga, California, where she met and married Barry Chaffin, and they had five daughters, Patricia, Brenda, Lora, Sandra, and Shannon. She spent many years living in Fort Worth, Texas before moving to Kansas. 

She leaves behind many family members who will remember her always: her husband Jesse Charles, her five daughters, Patricia Carrillo and David of Fort Worth, Tx, Brenda Chaffin of Hernando, Ms, Lora Erwin and Stu of Simla, Co, Sandra Post of Scott City, Ks, and Shannon Chaffin of Simla, Co. Her sister Treva Elliott and sister-in-law Anna Wilcher. Her 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren, and one angel baby great granddaughter. 

Jackie had a very colorful personality, and a witty sense of humor. She loved with her whole heart. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
