J. Paul Hillery, age 92, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on July 25, 1927 in Russell Springs, Kansas, the son of William H. And Ruby F. Martindale Hillery. Paul was a lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas and a farmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas and a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict with the rank of Tech 4th Grade.
On March 26, 1950 he married Pauline Rishel in Wichita County, Kansas. She passed away April 2, 1998 in Scott City, Kansas. On September 2, 2000 he married Addie Mae Strickler Collins in Abernathy,Texas. She passed away on May 1, 2015 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include his Two Sons - Gregory Hillery of Scott City, Kansas, Larry Hillery of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Marcia & Craig Matthies of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Lee Hillery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Four Grandchildren - Toby & Jacki Matthies of Vacaville, California, Blakely & Crystal Hillery of Fort Worth, Texas, Brittany Hillery of Hays, Kansas, Bretton Hillery of Denver, Colorado and Three Great Grandchildren - Jaslyn Hillery, Cooper Matthies and Harper Matthies.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Wives, One Grandson - Lucas Matthies, Two Brothers - Mark Hillery, Howard Hillery and Two Sisters - Wilma Norsworthy and Vivian Chambers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m at the Church Of The Nazarene in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Arlen Ankle presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Church Of The Nazarene in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
