J. D. Brewer

Garden City, Kansas J.D. "Jake" Brewer, age 73, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born July 8, 1938 in Milton, Kansas the son of Carl O. & Helen G. Gawthrop Brewer. A resident of Garden City since 1967, moving from Norwich, Kansas, he was a truck driver for Robinson Oil Company. J.D. was a member of the Church of Christ in Garden City, Kansas. On October 4, 1958 he married Sharon L. Brooks in Milton, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, John D. Brewer of Wichita, Kansas; Two Daughters, Debra L. (& Rod) Yoder of Dodge City, Kansas and Susan L. (& David) Pfenninger of Garden City, Kansas; One Brother, Jack "Dutch" Brewer of Norwich, Kansas; and Six Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Garden City, Kansas. There will be no calling times at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:30am at the Eden Cemetery in Milton, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Carpenter Place of Wichita, Kansas in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
