Irma Naomi Amelia (Olson) Kogler age 96, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Elmcroft Assisted Living Center in Lewisville, Texas. She was born December 5, 1915 in Saline County. She was the third of four children born to Olaf W. and Ellen (Martenson) Olson. She attended a county elementary school first through eighth grade and graduated from Assaria High School in May 1933. She was a bookkeeper for the Firestone stores in Russell and McPherson for a few years. She married Harry W. Kogler on January 11, 1945 at Assaria, Kansas and lived on a farm near Assaria before moving to the Scott City community in November 1948. Born to this union were two sons, Douglas Kevin and Bradley William. Irma was a member of the Assaria Lutheran Church, until she moved to Scott City at which time she joined the First Baptist Church on February 10, 1952, where she was active in church work serving as Financial and Sunday school secretary, Superintendent of the Primary Department, teacher in the Kindergarten Department and also served as church clerk for seven years. She was a member of American Baptist Women's Ministries, former member of the VIP band, and the Scott County Hospital Auxiliary. She worked as office manager in the Rector-Salmans insurance agency in Scott City from 1964 to 1983 when she retired. Her hobbies included crocheting, other crafts and volunteer work. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a loving wife and mother. She and Harry had been married for 57 years when he died in March 2002. Survivors include two sons: Doug and his wife LuAnn and their children Heather, Joshua, his wife Mary Ellen and their 3 children, Jacob, and Heidi and her husband Taylor Lindblom all of Huntington Beach, CA; Brad and his wife Debra, from Coppell, TX and their children Jason, his wife Ashley, and their son from Lewisville, TX, Michelle and her husband, Miles Terry, from Franklin, TN, and Stephanie and her fiancé, Brad Daugherty, from Nashville, TN., several nieces and nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by Her husband, parents and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
