Irene Hill Beedy, age 99, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Greeley County Long Term Care in Tribune, Kansas. Irene was born May 20, 1915 near Corwin, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph & Jennie Soper Hill. Following graduation in 1933 at Anthony High School in Anthony, Kansas, she attended Northwestern State University in Alva, Oklahoma for one year.
Irene was a very talented seamstress and beautifully handcrafted a lot of sewing for family and friends in Greeley County until her sight began to fail well into her 80’s. She was called on many times to make wedding dresses, draperies, cheer leading outfits and costumes for children in school programs. She was noted for her ability at invisible sewing. She raised chickens for Cooper Hatcheries in Garden City, Kansas as well as turkeys, large gardens and canning her fruits and vegetables yearly for her family and others.
Irene was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas, serving as Adult Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years. She felt this to be one of her greatest and proudest achievements. With this, as well as reading her Bible daily, she showed her dedication to the Lord and was known throughout her family and community as a valiant prayer warrior. She also was a member of the Horace Home Demonstration Unit, serving as President one year.
On August 21, 1935 she married Bertrum (Bert) Beedy in Anthony, Kansas. Bert passed away on October 13, 2005 at Tribune, Kansas.

Roberta Farr- Tulsa, Oklahoma
Venita & Kent Smades- Leoti, Kansas
Darlene & Alvin Wells- Leoti, Kansas
Three sons-
Gerald & Flora Beedy- Bird City, Kansas
Merlin & Betty Beedy- Calhan, Colorado
Lyle & Bettina Beedy- Derby, Kansas
A sister-
Evah Beard- Anthony, Kansas
Twenty two grandchildren, Forty Seven Great Grandchildren and Eighteen great great grandchildren.
Her husband, parents, a grandson, Rodney Burch, sons-in-law, Paul Burch and Don Farr and four siblings, Marvin Hill, Lewis Hill, Howard Hill and Olive Brown precede her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm (MDT) Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas with Pastors Dustin Fritzmeier, Joshua Willaford and Michael Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas. Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to either the Assembly of God Church in Tribune or Leoti, Kansas in care of the funeral home.
