Howard Cecil King

Howard C. King, age 99, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on April 26, 1925, in Nashville, Missouri, the son of Cecil & Florence Gruver King. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1958 moving from Dighton, Kansas, he was a Junior High School shop teacher for 22 years. Howard & Dorothy were the owners and operators of King’s Aluminum & Glass for 10 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Church Of Christ in Scott City, Kansas, and a US Navy Veteran of World War II.

On May 12, 1946, he married Dorothy Sarchet in Phillipsburg, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Dorothy King of Scott City, Kansas, Four Sons - Kenneth & Chris King of Redmond, Oregon, James & Janet King of Scott City, Kansas, Ronald & Rachel King of Canehill, Arkansas, Jeffrey & Carol King of Lake Jackson, Texas, Two Daughters - Carmen Veal of Gage, Oklahoma, Karen Andrews of Lawton, Oklahoma, Twelve Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren, and One Great Great Grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, One Daughter - Carla Curtis, One Brother - Mancel, and Three Sisters - Bonnie, Joyce & Fronna.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Church of Christ, W 6th St & Cedar St, Scott City, Kansas with Mike Deschner presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Scott County Library in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 552, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
