Former longtime Garden City resident, Homer D. Campbell, age 95, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on January 11, 1918 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Wayne M. and Hazel Downs Campbell. Homer attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas where He was active in theatre, music and was a member of the Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business in 1939. Mr. Campbell had been an insurance appraiser, tax accountant, real estate salesman, and owner of Campbell Abstract and Insurance Company in Garden City, Kansas for 60 years.
Homer was an Eagle Scout, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Optimist Club, and Garden City Community College Quarterback club, involved in years of bowling leagues, an avid golfer, and numerous community service efforts.
He was survived by his wife, Doris Mae Brinley of 74 years.

His Nieces, Shannon Meadows of Colorado Springs, and Dr. Sherrin Bonebrake of Olathe, KS., and their children Chelsea Hutchens, and Caysi and Cody Bonebrake, as well as several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial Service will be held in the Skyline room at the Villages at Skyline, 2365 Patriot Heights, Colorado Springs, at 3:00pm, on Friday February 8th.
Graveside Services were privately held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, KS.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
