Henry Otto Geeseka, age 71, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on September 11, 1936 on the family farm in Scott County, Kansas the son of Otto Henry and Alice Bennett Geeseka. A Garden City resident since 1989, moving from Scott City, Kansas, he was a farmer/stockman and had later worked at the NAPA auto parts store and for the Finney County Senior Center as a mini bus driver.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City, Kansas and he served two terms as deacon at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas.
On June 2, 1957 he married Caroline Delane Brandenburger in Scott City, KS. She survives.
Other Survivors Include: One Son, Guy H. (& wife Lisa) Geeseka of Garden City; One Sister, Joy Shoup of Ordway, Colorado; Five Grandchildren, Christopher Geeseka of Goodland, Kansas, Lindsey Geeseka of Goodland, Kansas, Eric Moyer of Chanute, Kansas, Anthony Moyer of Garden City, Kansas and Ashley Frye of S. Coffeyville, Kansas; One Great-Grandson, Braiden Moyer of Chanute, Kansas; Five Nephews and Two Nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Morgan.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas with Pastor Lyle Stuehrenberg presiding.
There will be no calling times.
