Harold Bennett

Harold E. Bennett, Sr., age 78, passed away at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas on Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was born on October 6, 1933 in Junction City, Oregon, the son of George J. and Mary E. Fenton Bennett. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1959 moving from Santa Ana, California. He was a retired farmer. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Harold was an artist all his life even into retirement. Loved to paint and worked with pottery, leathercraft, wood burnings and carvings, and wood restoration items. On January 18, 1956 he married Barbara Ann Griffith in Raton, New Mexico. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Barbara Bennett of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Harold Bennett Jr. of Scott City, Kansas, Bradley Bennett of North Platte, Nebraska, Two Daughters - Trudy Bennett of Wichita, Kansas, Linda (Bennett) Goforth of Garden City, Kansas, Three Brothers - Robert Bennett of Healy, Kansas, James Bennett of Dighton, Kansas, Terry Bennett of Torrington, Wyoming, Eight Grandchildren and Thirteen Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Brother and Four Sisters. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding. Memorials may be given to the El Quartelejo Museum in Scott City, Kansas. There will be no calling times.
