Gynile Elizabeth Grigg, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Greeley County Medical Center in Tribune, Kansas. Gynile was born May 23, 1950 in Scott City, Kansas the daughter of Mason King & Leola Francis Hoffman Grigg. She was a 1968 graduate of Scott Community High School and a 1973 graduate of Kansas State University. Following graduation from K.S.U., she accepted a job at Boulder County Recreations Department in Boulder, Colorado. In 1975 she moved to Gillette, Wyoming, where she was the Director of Campbell County Recreations Department. In 1982 she relocated to Overland Park, Kansas, where she resided for 8 years until her return to Scott City, Kansas. She had made her home in Tribune, Kansas since 1995 where she was employed at Dixon Drug. She was active in the community, played in the community band as a drummer, sold tickets at the local movie theater, delivered meals on wheels, helped out at the county fairs and with many other civic activities. Gynile was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas and the KSU Alumni Assn. Survivors include- One brother and his wife Steven & Mary Grigg- Ulysses, Kansas Nieces and nephews- Todd Grigg- Lawrence, Kansas Jill & Mike Riley- Emporia, Kansas Darren & Lisa Grigg- Olathe, Kansas Jason & Brooke Grigg- McCook, Nebraska Mason & Renee' Grigg- Overland Park, Kansas Grand nieces and nephews- Ashton Riley- Emporia, Kansas Baileigh Riley- Emporia, Kansas Lexi Grigg- Lawrence, Kansas Tyler Grigg- Olathe, Kansas Tanner Grigg- Olathe, Kansas Jack Grigg- Olathe, Kansas Holly Grigg- McCook, Nebraska Robin Grigg- McCook, Nebraska Her parents and a brother, Kenton M. Grigg, preceded her in death. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am M.S.T. (11:30 AM Central Time) on Saturday, March 27, 2009 at the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Michael Underwood officiating. Inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. C.S.T. Saturday in the Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, Kansas. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to (Greeley County Medical Center) in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes.
