Greg Helmers

Greg B. Helmers, age 58, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born on November 12, 1952 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Alfred Roy and Vera Maureen Shelman Helmers. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was the owner and operator of Helmers Motors in Scott City for over 30 years. His memberships include the Community Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas. On June 18, 1977 he married Linda D. Ballard in Plains, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Linda D. Helmers of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Grant & Caroline Helmers of Kansas City, Missouri, Blake & Brooke Helmers of Stockton, Kansas, One Daughter - Holly & Bryan Elsey of Manhattan, Kansas, One Granddaughter - Vera Helmers of Kansas City, Missouri and One Brother - Tim Helmers of Plano, Texas. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and One Infant Brother. Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church of Scott City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 with Troy Schroeder presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials In Lieu Of flowers may be given to the Community Christian Church Benevolent Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
