Grace Marie Hamilton, age 86, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, KS. She was born on March 21, 1925 in Moline, KS the daughter of William and Myrtie Gruben Venning. She graduated from Moline High School in 1942. In 1947 she received her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics and Medical Technology from Kansas State University. After teaching and working at various places she returned to Kansas State University and earned her Masters degree in Food and Nutrition in 1973 and later that year moved to Garden City, Kansas. In 1983 Grace received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from Fort Hays State University. She worked at St. Catherine Hospital and was a Nursing Instructor at Garden City Community College retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the Garden Valley Church and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority both of Garden City and was a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary.
On Sept. 1, 1946 she married Roger D. Hamilton in Independence, Kansas. He survives.
Other Survivors Include: Two Sons, Kent (& Janice) Hamilton of Tallahassee, Florida and Bob (& Marjorie) Hamilton of Wichita, Kansas; One Daughter, Jeanne Hamilton of Garden City, Kansas; Two Nephews, Bill (& Johnnie) Servis of Texas and John Servis of Houston, Texas. Seven Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beulah Servis.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Garden Valley Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Memorials may be given to the Gideons International in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
