Gordon Schmidt

Gordon Schmidt, age 87, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on Wednesday. September 5, 2012. He was born on September 20, 1924 in Barton County, Kansas, the son of Amos & Augusta Rodenberg Schmidt. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1945 moving from Barton County, Kansas, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend, Kansas. Gordon also was a member of the Eagle's Lodge of Garden City, Kansas and The Muskateer's Flying Club of Scott City. On December 9, 1948 he married Jeannine Clinton at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Jeannine Schmidt of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Gary & Sandy Schmidt of Scott City, Kansas, Three Daughters - Berneice & Jim Burch of Spearman,Texas, Carol Schmidt of Scott City, Kansas, Marilyn Schmidt & Rick Wright of Scott City, Kansas, One Grandson - Daniel & Kim Schmidt of Blue Rapids, Kansas, One Granddaughter - Tiffany Schmidt of Scott City, Kansas, Three Great Grandchildren - Callie Schmidt of Blue Rapids, Kansas, Lexi Schmidt of Blue Rapids, Kansas and Spencer Schmidt of Blue Rapids, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Daughter, Two Brothers and One Sister. Funeral Services will be held at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren - Friend, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 with the Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding. Memorials may be given to the Prairie View Church of the Brethren or the Scott County EMT's in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Prairie View Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Friend, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. Until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
