Gilda Mancha, age 86, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, KS. She was born June 25, 1926 in Holcomb, Kansas the daughter of Rosendo and Francis Medina Garcia. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Garden City since 1956.
She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas.
On December 6, 1945 she married Thomas J. Mancha in Lawton, Oklahoma.
He died July 1, 2007 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors include:
One Daughter, Sheila Gonzales of Garden City, Kansas;
Two Brothers, Mike Garcia of Garden City, Kansas and
John Garcia of Lawrence, Kansas;
Three Sisters, Ramona Garcia of Garden City, Kansas
Virginia Garcia of Garden City, Kansas and
Josie Mancha of Garden City, Kansas;
Four Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a Daughter, Susan Prestige and
A Brother, Pete Garcia.
Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas.
A Memorial Mass will be said at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas.
There will be no calling times.
Burial will take place in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Gilda Mancha Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
