Gerald Young

Gerald E. Young, age 68, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on January 27, 1944, in Scott City, Kansas the son of Clarence and Audrey Duff Young. A lifetime resident of Scott City he was a farmer. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas. On Aug. 7, 1968 he married Emily M. Cox in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away on Aug. 22, 2007 in Scott City, Kansas Survivors include: Two Sons, Jerry Young of El Paso, Texas, William & Bettye Young of Dodge City, Kansas; One Daughter, Michelle & Lonnie Lightner of Scott City, Kansas;Twenty-Six Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Lynnette Bergen, a son, Robert Young and a brother, Elvin Young. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas. With the Rev. Warren Prochnow presiding. Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1-8pm Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
