Gaylord Leroy "G.L." Burroughs, age 87, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on July 15, 1925 in Cromwell, Oklahoma the son of Merle M. and Florence M. Brown Burroughs. He was a WWII US Army veteran and moved to Garden City in 1959 where he worked for Helmerich & Payne, Inc. of Garden City, Kansas retiring after 37 years as an oil field foreman.
Gaylord was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church of Garden City, Kansas, the VFW, the DAV and he was a former Oddfellows member.
On July 30, 1947 he married Edna Marie Blocker in Perry, Oklahoma. She survives.

One Son, Charles (& Carla) Burroughs of Garden City, Kansas;
One Daughter, Donna (& Donnie) McAnally of Ulysses, Kansas;
Two Daughters-In-Law, Aneda Burroughs of Edmond, Oklahoma and
Rene' Biel of Pleasanton, California;
Twelve Grandchildren, Twenty-Seven Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by 3 Sons, John, Dale & Gayle Burroughs,
One Great-Granddaughter, Nyla Thomas, 2 Brothers, Ernest & Raymond Burroughs and 3 Sisters, Irene Northrop, Dorothy Norris & Isabell Gibson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the First Assembly Of God Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm on Friday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with the family being in attendance from 6-8pm to receive friends.
Memorials may be given to the Church Benevolence Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
