Gayland Lee "Gus" Cauthon, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on December 21, 1925 in Albert, Kansas, the son of Lee Elmer and Margaret Catherine Teten Cauthon. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1932 moving from Rush County, Kansas, he was a Farmer and Cattleman.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Anthem Masonic Lodge #284 and Isis Shrine Club all of Scott City, Kansas. Gus was a US Army Veteran of World War II with the Rank of Tec 5.
On November 10, 1952 he married Margaret Elaine Robb in Garden City, Kansas. She passed away on November 3, 2009 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include his Two Sons - Stuart & Sandra Cauthon of Scott City, Kansas, Steven & Mary Cauthon of Noblesville, Indiana, One Brother - Homer Cauthon of Riverton, Wyoming, Three Sisters - Gertrude Brown of Scott City, Kansas, Patsy Whitson of Ventura, California, Bonnie Dice of Nampa, Idaho and Four Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, and One Brother - Elmer Cauthon.
Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Scott County VIP Center or the Scott County Shrine Club % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott CIty
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
