Gary A. Speer

Gary Allen Speer, age 68, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, At Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born on May 15, 1955, in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Charles Arthur and Marilyn Joy Butt Speer. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a farmer, mechanic, contractor, Oilfield worker, and handyman.

Gary enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, hunting, fishing, and crossword puzzles.

On November 5, 1977, he married Lark Appel in Scott City, Kansas.  She survives 

Survivors include his Wife - Lark Speer of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons Gerrad & Lauren of Wichita, Kansas, Nick & Shenna of Topeka, Kansas, Two Brothers - Gaylon Speer of Overbook, Kansas, Gordon Speer of Jetmore, Kansas, One Sister - Jeanne Spradling & Kent Ochsner of Baldwin City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren - Graham Speer of Wichita, Kansas, Eleanor Speer of Wichita, Kansas, Landon Speer of Wichita, Kansas, Cadence Speer of Topeka, Kansas, and Silas Speer of Topeka, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Rodney Hopper presiding.
