Fred O. Patton, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Park Place Apartments in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on April 26, 1910 in Logan County, Kansas, the son of William Pinkney and Metisha Isabelle Farr Patton. In 1930 he moved to Denver, Colorado and then back to Scott City in 1945. Fred farmed in Scott County until 1962 when he went to work for the Scott County Road Department. In 1975 he went to work for the City of Scott City as Superintendent of Parks until he retired after 20 years at the age of 85.
Memberships include: St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Scott City, Kansas.
On May 1, 1931 he married Rita Workman in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away in 1949. On August 29, 1966 he married Helen E. Canelake in Garden City, Kansas. She passed away on May 16, 2000 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Step Sons - Phillip Whiteman of Denver, Colorado, L. Dean Angeles of New Orleans, Louisiana, Two Sisters - Hazel Browning and Eva Nickel both of Scott City, Kansas, Two Brothers - Paul & Lena Patton of Cheney, Kansas, and Art & Trudy Patton of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Six Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Wives, One Step Son - Terry, and One Step Daughter - Connie, One Sister â Florence Green, and Five Brothers â Theodore, Elvie "E.R.", Oscar, Otis, and Elmer Patton.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 with the Reverend Don Martin presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
