Fred Matney, Jr., age 76, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 17, 1930 in South Sioux City, Nebraska area, he moved to Scott City, Kansas in 19, the son of Fred and Opal Wilson Matney Sr. A former resident of the Homer/ South Sioux City, Nebraska area, he moved to Scott City, Kansas in 1998 from Garden City, Kansas. He was a retired truck driver a US Navy Veteran.
On April 4, 1987 he married Laverne Rogers Pearson in Greensburg, Kansas. She survives.
