MARIENTHAL, KANSAS FRANK A. SCHRECK, AGE 90, PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23, 2008 AT HAYS, KANSAS. FRANK WAS BORN FEBRUARY 20, 1917 AT GARDEN PLAIN, KANSAS, THE SON OF HENRY & ADELHEID FONKE SCHRECK. HE WAS A FARMER AND HAD BEEN A WICHITA COUNTY RESIDENT SINCE 1924 MOVING FROM ARNOLD, KANSAS. FRANK WAS A MEMBER OF ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. HE HAD SERVED MANY YEARS ON THE WICHITA COUNTY CEMETERY BOARD AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BUILDING THE POST & CABLE FENCES AT ALL THE COUNTY CEMETERIES. AS A YOUNG MAN, FRANK WAS A PARTICIPANT IN THE C.C.C. (CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORP) DURING THE ROOSEVELT ADMINISTRATION, WHERE HE HELPED BUILD THE CLARK COUNTY LAKE, THE GRAND COULEE DAM IN WASHINGTON STATE AND NUMEROUS PROJECTS IN MINNESOTA. ON FEBRUARY 22, 1943 HE MARRIED MATHILDA FISCHER AT MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. SHE SURVIVES. FRANK'S OTHER SURVIVING FAMILY INCLUDES TWO SONS AND THEIR WIVES- DAN & MARY SCHRECK- LEOTI, KANSAS TOM & DEBRA SCHRECK- VICTORIA, KANSAS TWO DAUGHTERS AND THEIR HUSBANDS- JUDY & MICHAEL ENGEL- HAYS, KANSAS MARY JANE & RICHARD LILLY- OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS ONE BROTHER- FATHER JOSEPH SCHRECK- UTUADO, PUERTO RICO THREE SISTERS- MARY AGNES SCHRECK- CLINTON, MISSOURI ADALIA MORIN- AURORA, COLORADO SISTER MARGARET SCHRECK- CONCORDIA, KANSAS EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN- REBECCA ENGEL- DENVER, COLORADO SARA (LILLY) FALTER- PASEDENA, CALIFORNIA MATT SCHRECK- HAYS, KANSAS PAUL ENGEL- OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS JASON LILLY- OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS LORI (ENGEL) COURTNEY- BEND, OREGON AARON LILLY - OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS TANNER SCHRECK- GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO EXTENDED FAMILY INCLUDE- SETH & BARBARA FRANZMAN - PHOENIX, ARIZONA BILL & GAIL KNORR- TASKET, WASHINGTON HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, TWO BROTHERS, VICTOR & JOHN SCHRECK AND A SISTER MILDRED SCHRECK. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS WITH FATHER BENJAMIN MARTIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN ST. MARY CEMETERY, MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M.
