Frankie ( Frank ) Earl Fitzgerald, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. Frank was born February 1, 1933 in the Sunnyside community of Wichita County, Kansas, the son of L.D. & Viola Pearl Schwindt Fitzgerald. A lifetime resident of Wichita County and a 1952 graduate of Wichita County High School, he was owner/operator of Fitzgerald Oil Company.
Franks memberships include- United Methodist Church- Leoti, Kansas Anthem Masonic Lodge- Scott City, Kansas Isis Shrine- Salina, Kansas Frank was active in many community programs including being a lifetime member of the Wichita County Fire Department as well as a founding member of the Leoti E.M.T.'s. Frank and his family usually spent their weekends fishing at Trenton Lake in Nebraska.
On May 8, 1952 he married Pauline Hudson in New Mexico. They later divorced. He later married Donna Fischer on June 29, 1960 at Leoti, Kansas. She passed away on June 29, 1996 at Leoti, Kansas. On February 14, 1997 he married Ella Mae Ellis at Leoti, Kansas. She passed away on September 4, 1999 in Wichita, Kansas.
Frank's surviving family members include- Four sons and their spouses- Rickey Lynn & Linda Fitzgerald- Davenport, Iowa Paul Leslie Fitzgerald- Moline, Illinois Patrick Allen Fitzgerald- Wichita, Kansas Michael Joseph & Melody Fitzgerald- Huber Heights, Ohio Two brothers- L.D. Fitzgerald, Jr.- Pocatello, Idaho Wayne Allen Fitzgerald- Ralston, Oklahoma Two sisters- Marilyn Alley- Amarillo, Texas Darla Boyd- Oakley, Kansas Eight grandchildren, Two great grandchildren Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jack DeWayne Fitzgerald and a grandson, Dustin Fitzgerald, while serving our country in Iraq.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Bob Everest officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Greeley County L.T.C.U. or the Leoti E.M.T.'s in care of the funeral home.
