Frances Dale Simpson, age 83, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Tribune, Kansas. Dale was born January 27, 1927 at Scott City, Kansas, the son of Sidney P. & Cecile Pringle Simpson. He was the retired owner/pilot of Simpson AERO and a lifetime Tribune, Kansas resident. Dale was a United States Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
Dale was a charter member and former president of the Kansas Association of Aerial Applicators and in 1968 served as Secretary to the National Aerial Applicators Association.
On November 26, 1966 he married Gloria Ortega at Tribune, Kansas. Dale's surviving family members include- Wife- Gloria Simpson- Tribune, Kansas One son- Eric Simpson, and his wife, Cheryl Meridan, Kansas Two daughters Herlinda M. Donelson and her husband Eddie- Olathe, Kansas Delores "Dody" Leonard- Judsonia, Arkansas Four grandchildren Drue Donelson and his wife Brooke- Kingsville, Missouri Cody Donelson- Overland Park, Kansas Laura Leonard- Lawrence, Kansas Mathew Leonard- Berkley, California Two great grandchildren- Spencer and Brayden Donelson- Kingsville, Missouri Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Simpson and a sister, Mary Heckert Armstrong.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. (M.S.T.) Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverends Les Ellis, Mark Randolph, Mike Underwood and Father Ben Martin officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard, Fort Riley, Kansas Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
There will be no calling times.
Memorials may be given to the Dale Simpson Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
