Frances Pauline Koch, age 93, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was the second of seven daughters born to John Elmer and Beulah Hazel Funk Hollister on Wednesday, December 11, 1918 in Cunningham, Kansas. She lived most of her childhood in Kingman and Spivey, Kansas before moving with her family to Eads, Colorado in 1934. She graduated from Eads High School in 1937.
In the Spring of 1937 she met Raymond Koch in Lamar, Colorado and they were married on October 31 that same year. In 1941 they moved to Eads, Colorado and in 1944 they moved to Scott City, Kansas where they remained the rest of their lives. Raymond and Pauline celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary prior to Raymond's death on March 2, 2011.
Raymond and Pauline have four children. Robert Koch (Virginia), Kent Koch (Deb) of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Marion Koch (Betty) of Morrisville PA, and Paula Koch Copp (Chuck) of Topeka, Ks. They have sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Pauline worked many years as seamstress at Muench's Fabric and Drapery store in Scott City sewing custom draperies. She also sold Watkin's products from her home. She was a master gardener and spent as much time as possible in her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet and can the fruits and vegetables from her garden. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker and mother.
Most importantly she was a devout Christian. She read and studied her Bible faithfully and also completed a four year Menninger Bible Study Course. She quietly served others by finding a need and filling it. She and Raymond were charter members of the Community Christian Church in Scott City.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, sisters, Jewell Harris, Dorothy Penn, Eunice Lindholm and her son Robert Koch who passed away in November of 2008.
Funeral Services will be held at the Community Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 with Pastor Shelby Crawford presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
Memorials may be given to the Community Christian Church or Park Lane Nursing Home % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
