Forrest Eugene Ray passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho. This was a result of injuries sustained in a fall at a construction site on April 16, 2012.
He was born October 4, 1955, in Tribune, Greeley County, Kansas, to Russell and Selma (Carlson) Ray. His father predeceased him on February 3, 2001. He is survived by his mother, Selma Ray, Sun City, Arizona; sister, Doris Ray, Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Joyce Huddleston and her husband, Jerry Huddleston, Tribune, Kansas, and nephews, Douglas and David Huddleston.
Forrest graduated from Greeley County High School in 1973, Dodge City Community College in 1976, Emporia State University, 1978 and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, in 1986 with a masters degree in Divinity. He was the pastor of churches in Walden, Colorado, the Elko, Nevada area and Jackpot, Nevada, prior to moving to Twin Falls, Idaho. Forrest worked for the Twin Falls School District in maintenance and security. He was a member of The First Nazarene Church, Twin Falls, Idaho, and he was an avid photographer and loved making treks into the beautiful mountains near Twin Falls. He also enjoyed looking at the stars and planets through his telescope and at the observatory.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 1:30 PM MT at the The First Nazarene Church, Twin Falls, Idaho. Graveside services will be at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM MT.
