Floyd Pointer, age 80, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his residence in Holcomb, Kansas. He was born on February 29, 1932 in Syracuse, Kansas the son of Floyd Pointer Sr. and Cleo Tope Earnest. A resident of Holcomb since 1973 moving from Las Vegas, Nevada, he was a retired Design Engineer working for Western Steel and Automation. He was also a US Air Force Veteran Radar Engineer.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
On August 11, 1954 he married Glenda Mae Garner in Raton, New Mexico. She passed away on November 20, 2009 in Lakin, Kansas.
Survivors Include:Two Sons ,Mike Pointer of Holcomb, Kansas, and
Kent Pointer of Gillette, Wyoming; One Daughter, Judith Pointer of Danville, Kentucky; One Brother, Dean Pointer of Ulysses, Kansas; One Sister, Shirley Williams of Ulysses, Kansas; Four Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son- Floyd Eugene Pointer, and a grandson- Andrew Pointer.
Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
There will be no calling times.
The family requests memorials be given to the United Methodist Church, Kendall Kansas in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
