Fern Dirks

Fern L. Dirks, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Bethel Home in Montezuma, Kansas. She was born on January 27, 1929 in Alsen, North Dakota, the daughter of Walter M. and Susie Wiebe Amoth. A resident of Scott County, Kansas since 1976 moving from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Scott Mennonite Church in Scott County, Kansas. On February 8, 1948 she married David E. Dirks in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He passed away on June 15, 1991 in Scott County, Kansas. Survivors include Her Two Sons - Ken & Lisha Dirks of Scott City, Kansas, Daryl & Vernita Dirks of Scott City, Kansas, Three Daughters - Lynne & Kenneth Unruh of Scott City, Kansas, Daryla & Maynard Unruh of Buhl, Idaho, Rita & Joe Kehn of Bradley, Arkansas, Three Brothers - Donald Amoth of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Wayne Amoth of Buhl, Idaho, Leslie Amoth of Glenn, California, Two Sisters - Frances Koehn of Glenn, California, Melvina Amoth of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Twenty Three Grandchildren and Forty Five Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Three Brothers, and One Great Grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at the Scott Mennonite Church in Scott County, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 with Franklin Koehn, Charles Nightengale, Daniel Koehn presiding. Interment will be in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Scott County, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Bethel Home in Montezuma, Kansas in care of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas and 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday @ Bethel Home in Montezuma, Kansas, and 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
