EVERETT E. HUEFTLE, AGE 84, PASSED AWAY ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2007 AT SCOTT COUNTY HOSPITAL IN SCOTT CITY , KANSAS. EVERETT WAS BORN JUNE 30, 1923 IN SCOTT COUNTY, KANSAS; THE SON OF EUGENE & EDNA DICKHUT HUEFTLE. HE WAS A 1941 GRADUATE OF SCOTT COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL AND ATTENDED PHILLIPS UNIVERSITY FROM 1941 THROUGH 1944, WHEN HE JOINED THE UNITED STATES NAVY. HE WAS TRAINED AS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1946. WHEN HE RETURNED HOME TO SCOTT CITY, KANSAS, HE ENTERED INTO BUSINESS WITH HIS FATHER AT HUEFTLE FURNITURE AS A TILER AND CARPET LAYER. HE WAS ALSO A FARMER IN SCOTT COUNTY FOR OVER 55 YEARS. EVERETT MEMBERSHIPS INCLUDE- UNITED METHODIST CHURCH- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS CHRISTIAN MEN'S FELLOWSHIP- " BOY SCOUTS- " SCOTT COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY- " HE SERVED ON THE SCOTT COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, WAS ACTIVE IN SEVERAL PITCH AND POKER CLUBS AND ENJOYED HUNTING, FISHING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND WAS AN AVID GARDENER. ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1951 HE MARRIED WANDA CONINE AT SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. SHE PASSED AWAY ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1956 AT SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. ON FEBRUARY 14, 1960 HE MARRIED SHIRLEY SCHMITT AT SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. SHE PASSED AWAY ON JANUARY 5, 1996 AT SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. EVERETT'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- A DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND- NANCY & STEVE SCHNEIDER- SUBLETTE, KANSAS TWO GRANDCHILDREN- ASHLEE SCHNEIDER- SUBLETTE, KANSAS SCOTT SCHNEIDER- SUBLETTE, KANSAS SEVERAL NEICES AND NEPHEWS HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, A SISTER, DOROTHY LAY AND A NEICE, STEPHANIE LEIGH. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2007 AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND RANDY ROBINSON AND THE REVEREND TOM SCHNEIDER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN SCOTT COUNTY CEMETERY IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON TO 8:00 P.M. TUESDAY AND FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 8:00 P.M.
