Eva Ileen Nickel, age 81, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Avis Smith Farr. At an early age she was adopted by William P. "Pink" and Metisha Farr Patton. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker.
Her memberships include the Wesleyan Church, Worthwhile Workers EHU, Longtime 4-H Leader, American Legion Auxiliary Post #183 all of Scott City, Kansas.
On December 24, 1947 she married Harold M. Nickel in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on October 25, 2006 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include: One Son - Tim Nickel of Garden City, Kansas, One Daughter - Sue Nickel of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister - Hazel Browning of Scott City, Kansas, Two Brothers - Paul Patton of Caney, Kansas and Art Patton of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, One Granddaughter - Shauna Pierce of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 10 Adopted Horse Show Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Sister and Six Brothers.
Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Eva I. Nickel Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
