Esther Lee McDonell

Esther Lee McDonell, age 88, passed away on September 30, 2021 at the High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin, Kansas. She was born on February 7, 1933, the daughter of Emra and Grace Morehead Coltrin.

On June 25, 1950, Esther married C. Eugene McDonell in Fowler, Colorado. He passed away on April 4, 2008.

Esther was a former member of the First Baptist Church where she served as organist, and attended the First United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Survivors include, two daughters; Michelle & Mark Jones of Leoti, Kansas, and Melissa & Greg Fletcher of Lakin, Kansas, one sister; Betty Jensen of Fowler, Colorado, three granddaughters; Kristen Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Kaitlin Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Tiffany & Chris Mylius of Brighton, Colorado, four grandsons; Matt & Jordan Jones of Dallas, Texas, Breck & Kirsten Fletcher of Leoti, Kansas, Neil & Harper Fletcher of College Station, Texas, Gabe and Lexi Fletcher of Manhattan, Kansas, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister - Gracie Eddy.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Tod Anthony presiding.  Services will be streamed live at www.priceandsons.com.  Click the live stream tab on the left side of the obituary or click on LIVESTREAM" starting at 1:55 p.m.

Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Price and Sons Funeral home at forth and J St. in Leoti, Kansas.
