Erna E. Andrews, age 92, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Heritage Manor Health Care in Dwight, Illinois. She was born on December 8, 1919 in Arlington, Minnesota, the daughter of August and Anna "Sophie" Rischmiller Berndt. A former resident of Garden City, Erna had moved to Dwight, Illinois in 2006. She was a homemaker and a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City, Kansas and was a WWII US Army Air Corps Veteran. On March 17, 1944 she married William A. Andrews in Amarillo, Texas. He died July 15, 2004 in Denver, Colorado. Survivors Include: Three Daughters, Karen (& Martin) Booth of Reno, Nevada, Lynne (& Louis) Cronin of Dwight, Illinois and Ruth Johnson of Blue Springs, Missouri; Seven Grandchildren and Eight Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Three Brothers, Marvin, Edmund & Raymond Berndt and One Sister, Selina Stroebel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00am-2:00pm Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Dwight, IL, Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City, KS or the American Cancer Society all in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
