Ermina Rupp

Garden City, Kansas Ermina R. Rupp, age 87, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 10, 1922 in Liebenthal, Kansas the daughter of Martin & Dorothy Herman Brungardt. A Garden City resident for most of her life, having moved from Ellis County, Kansas, she had worked at Woolworth's, at Della's Pottery and with the high school as a cook. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Eagles Ladies Auxilliary and the VFW Ladies Auxilliary all of Garden City, Kansas. On July 23, 1940, she married Mike J. Rupp in Garden City, Kansas. He died on March 12, 2006 in Elkhart, Kansas. Survivors include: Three Sons, Melvin Rupp of Garden City, Kansas Jim Rupp of Broomfield, Colorado and Ralph Rupp of Crossville, Tennessee; Five Daughters, Eileen Doak of Wichita, Kansas, Evelyn Betts of Garden City, Kansas, Alice Walsh of Cadiz, Kentucky, Janice Burling of St. Martinville, Louisiana and Marilyn Buhr of Plymouth, Minnesota; One Sister, Silverina Hahn of Garden City, Kansas; Seventeen Grandchildren, Thirty-One Great-Grandchildren and Six Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Heloris "Shorty" Brungardt. Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Francis Khoi Nguyen presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm on Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Ermina Rupp Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
