Ema Marie Calderon, age 57, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Salina Regional Health Center.
She was born February 20, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of Juanita Gonzalez and Ruben Calderon. Ema had been raised in the Garden City area and graduated from Garden City High School in 1976.
Ema loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On occasion she would enjoy sewing, quilting, gardening, going on motorcycle rides and listening to good music.
Survivors are her parents Julian and Juanita Gonzalez of Garden City; her children Phillip Calderon and Melissa Morales (Martinez) of Garden City, Michelle Soukup (Witt) of Salina, Amber Perales of Hemet, Ca; her siblings, Norma Esquivel, Ruben Calderon, Esther Gonzalez, Emilia Ortiz all of Garden City, Frank Calderon of Missouri, Lisa Near of South Carolina, Tony Calderon of Salina, Ks; half siblings, Felipe Calderon Salazar of Midland, Tx, Fernando Calderon Salazar of Tucson, Az, Anita Calderon Salazar and Irene Calderon both of California, Ruben Calderon, Rosa Calderon, Gloria Calderon, Micaela Calderon all of Mexico; grandchildren, Tonio Hernandez, Lexes Guerrero, Frankie Gurrero, Julian Morales, Fabian Morales, Anthony Morales Jr and Iziaha Calderon all of Garden City, Mercedes Soukup, Lynissa Soukup, Ernest Soukup, Damian Soukup and Ruben Soukup all of Salina, Ks, and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Ruben Calderon; son, Frank Martinez; Grandparents, Cipriana and Luis Garcia and her brother, George Calderon.
Open Calling hours will be from 10 - 8 on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Rosary will be said at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 with Mass of Christian Burial following at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church.
Interment will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
