Elizabeth "Betty" J. West, age 89, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. She was born on April 4, 1922 in Healy, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Joseph & Margaret Murphy Kerkhoff. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a owner of West Plumbing in Scott City, Kansas. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Alter Society, and was a Catholic Education Teacher all in Scott City, Kansas. On February 20, 1941 she married Jack H. West in Healy, Kansas. He passed away on May 29, 1982 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors include Seven Sons - Arthur J. & Susie West of Elsegundo, CA, Jack H. & Shelley West of San Diego, CA, David L. West of Vancouver, WA, Patrick T. & Debbie West of Ocean City, CA, Louis P. West of Garden City, Kansas, Gene H. West of Garden City, Kansas, Terry J. & Beverly West of Shallow Water, KS, Eleven Daughters - Margaret J. Ellison of Sweden, Mary & Dale Wasinger of Ellis, Kansas, Elizabeth J. Bradley of Wichita, Kansas, Martha L. & Dale Jonagan of Ingalls, Kansas, Dorotha A. Reynolds of Dodge City, Kansas, Ruth J. West of Bakersfield, CA, Kathryn L. & Gary Church of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca S. & Stan Morton of Lawrence, KS, Carolyn K. & Salvador Hinojosa of Mercedes, TX, Barbara S. & Morris Betzold of Hutchinson, KS, Virginia L. & Mitch Leonard of Dodge City, KS, 44 Grandchildren and 42 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 1 Son â Mike H. West, 1 Sister and 5 Brothers. Vigil Services will be St. Joseph Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials amy be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday & 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
