Edward Walter Tomchak, age 85, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2013 at the Woodhaven Nursing Home in Ellinwood, Kansas. He was born on August 11, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John S. and Tekla Tomchak. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1963 moving from Amarillo, Texas, he was a salesman for Amarillo Hardware of Amarillo, Texas.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Garden City, Kansas and was a US Air Force Veteran with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On July 5, 1973 he married Frances Mae Wedge in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She passed away in September of 2009 in Texas.
Survivors include his Three Daughters - Pamela Merten of Great Bend, Kansas, Barbara Ann Tomchak of Abilene, Texas, Patricia Ulik of Oklahoma, One Brother - Rudy Tomchak of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Three Step Children, Four Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and One Sister - Velma.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Garden City, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 with Cory Mills presiding.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas .
Memorials may be given to the Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday@ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
