Earl L. Gorman, age 89, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on December 22, 1924 in Smith Center, Kansas, the son of Billie and Edith Orel McNeary Gorman. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1958 moving from Anderson, Missouri, he was a journeyman operator for Wheatland Electric and was journeyman maintenance for Sunflower Electric retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the VFW in Scott City, Kansas and served his country in the army during World War II.
On July 18, 1948 he married Loretta Marie Proehl in Kanarado, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors Include his One Son - Orville Gorman of Augusta, Kansas, One Daughter - Barbara Brobst of Scott City, Kansas, Six Sisters - Jane McBroom of Scott City, Kansas, Leta Gillispie of Colby, Kansas, Mary Litchfield of Anderson, Missouri, Vera Gorman of Scott City, Kansas, Bonnie McQuillan of Anderson, Missouri, Connie King of Langan, Missouri, Four Brothers - Ike Gorman of Pineville, Missouri, Loren Gorman of Diamond, Missouri, Henry Gorman of Jane, Missouri, Murrel Gorman of Splitlog, Missouri, Seven Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Adele.
Funeral Services will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 with Chris Gorman and Henry Gorman presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Park Lane Nursing Home % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
