Drexyel Jackson Morris, age 79, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. He was born July 12, 1929 in Sulfer, OK the son of Andrew and Verna Jackson Morris. He received his Bachelors of Science in Primary Education and later his Masters Degree in Business Administration both from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. A resident of Garden City since 2000 moving from Bucklin, Kansas, he had been a coach, a teacher and a farmer.
He was a member of the Church Of Christ, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors Include: One Son, Dana Morris of Topeka, Kansas; Two Daughters, Dee Rundell of Stafford, Kansas and Sherry Martin of Garden City, Kansas; One Nephew, Guy DuCharm of Littleton, Colorado; Nine Grandchildren and Seventeen Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a Sister, Joy DuCharm.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Mullinville, KS with the Pastor Kenne Whitson presiding.
Friends may call from Noon-8pm on Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
The family requests memorials be given to the St. Catherine Hospice in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
