Douglas Wayne Thiessen, age 65, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the CRMC in Cheyenne, Wyoming, holding the hands of his three daughters. He was born on November 28, 1948 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Ed and Erma Friesen Thiessen.
Doug attended school in Garden City, graduating high school in 1966. He was active in Youth for Christ throughout his school years, then attended Tabor College. At an early age, Doug showed a love for Christ and farming. He was a member of the Garden Valley Church of Garden City, Kansas and farmed for nearly 45 years. Most of those years spent alongside his father.

His Mother, Erma Thiessen of Garden City, Kansas;
Three Daughters, Rebekah (& Kyle) Hambright of West Jordan, Utah,
Emily (& Brian) Longbottom of Cheyenne, Wyoming and
Meara (& Colby) Kortum of Thornton, Colorado;
Two Sisters, Suzanne (& Larry) Wiens of Newton, Kansas and
Cindy (& Joe) Knight of Roseville, California;
Six Grandchildren, Xander & Taegen Hambright of West Jordan, Utah and
Parker, Keagan, Avery & Spencer Longbottom of Cheyenne, WY.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Ed Thiessen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Garden Valley Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Visiting hours will be from 1:00-8:00pm on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
