Dorothy M. Rivenburg, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Westridge Assisted Living in Girard, Kansas. Dorothy was born July 6, 1922 on the family farm at Sharon Springs, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer & Effie Burns Chaney. Dorothy graduated of Greeley County High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and had lived the majority of her life in Sharon Springs and Tribune, Kansas.
Dorothy was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and VFW Auxiliary, both of Tribune, Kansas.
In 1943 she married Ralph Waldren at Syracuse, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
In 1956 she married Kenneth Rivenburg in New Mexico. Kenny passed away on October 31, 1988 at Tribune, Kansas.
Dorothy's surviving family includes-
One son-
Ralph & Edna Waldren- Girard, Kansas
One daughter-
Rhonda Rivenburg- Littleton, Colorado
Seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Her parents, both husbands, a son, Ronald Waldren, Five sisters, Lona Brunkhorst, Betty Chaney, Flossie Damrow, Christina Chaney and Agnes Chaney and four brothers, Russell, Virgil, Clifford and Albert Chaney precede her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. (M.D.T.) Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Mark Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Rebakah Lodge of Tribune, Kansas in care of the funeral home.
