Dorothy Cooley

Dorothy Eileen Cooley, age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Wichita County Long Term Care Unit in Leoti, Kansas. Dorothy was born March 24, 1918 at Stratton, Colorado, the daughter of Carl & Pearl Washalinski Grate. She was a homemaker and had been a Wichita County area resident since 1947 moving from the Burdett, Kansas. Dorothy was a member of Parks Presbyterian Church in rural Wichita County, Kansas. On September 13, 1941 she married Glenn D. Cooley at Bazine, Kansas. He passed away on September 20, 1985 at Leoti, Kansas. Dorothy's surviving family members include- One son and his wife- Roger & Toni Cooley- Scott City, Kansas Three daughters and their husbands- Geraldine & Bob Taylor- Leoti, Kansas Phyllis & Frank Black- Edson, Kansas Diana & Daniel Fahrenholtz- Granby, Colorado Fourteen Grandchildren, Twenty great grandchildren, Eight Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Dale G. Cooley and a brother, Paul Grate. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Paul McNall officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas Friends may cal from 5:00 p.m. to 8 :00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the donors choice in care of the funeral home.
