Doris Henry

Garden City, Kansas Doris Elaine Henry, age 84, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 6, 1924 in Macksville, Kansas the daughter of Chester C. and Ruby Pearl Barker Haynes. A resident of Garden City since 1957 moving from Great Bend, Kansas. She was a school cook and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church of Garden City, Kansas. She also belonged to the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxilliaries, the Finney County Senior Center and the AARP. On May 24, 1941 she married Ervin Earl Henry in Macksville, Kansas. He died April 23, 2003 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: One Son, Ervin "Jim" Henry of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Judy Young of Tribune, Kansas; One Sister, Margaret Hauck of Rochester, New York; Seven Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Hager and a brother, Bill Haynes. Graveside Services will be held at 9:00am on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City, KS with the Pastor Don Payne presiding. Friends may call from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Doris Henry Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
